It has best in class 15.6” IPS display with 300 Hz refresh rate and a battery which goes on for four hours straight in a single charge. FEATURES AND DESIGN
- The Design
The one thing I like most about this beast is its phenomenal design. Triton’s design is no doubt the best gaming aesthetic available with its brushed aluminum chassis. Feels sturdy and expensive, to be honest.
- The display
Acer Predator Triton 500 has an elegant display. It has an awesome15.6” IPS display with 300 Hz refresh rate. It is colorful and bright, which provides an absolute blast to play. The bezel is pretty thick with ‘Predator’ emblazoned on it, which looks amazing.
- The Keyboard and Trackpad
The keyboard in this machine just feels amazing whenever we are playing games or doing some writing. The RGB lighting is just awesome to watch. This lighting is customizable, it’s bright and available in three zones.
The Trackpad is thinner, responsive, and crisp. No dedicated buttons available, but it’s just what you would like in a gaming laptop. It follows the inputs just the way it should, with no issues.
- The Audio
Acer Predator Triton 500 packs pretty decent speakers, which are located ergonomically just above the keyboard. After testing it out by playing some good music, we came to a conclusion that the sound was pretty clear and loud and the base was a little washed-out. Overall, it was a great experience. Also, it has enough USB and audio ports if you prefer to connect external audio devices.
- The Ports
Acer Predator Triton 500 is a slim beauty. Just 18mm (not even three-quarters of an inch!). This beast is fitted with a triple fan cooling system (4th Gen Aeroblade 3D technology) and also has a number of ports. There are a total of three USB type-A ports, one USB-C, an E3100 Ethernet Controller, an HDMI port, and even a MiniDisplay DisplayPort.
- The Performance
Acer Predator Triton 500 comes with an impressive hardware and gives you a start of-the-art gaming experience. It was really a cake walk to achieve 100+ fps frame rates for every game. The Triton 500 scored 6,017 in Geekbench 5 benchmark, which pretty much measures its overall performance.
Triton 500 was also able to handle productivity tasks with ease. No matter how much video or music we streamed, or how many tabs we had open in Chrome, the machine didn’t slow down; it didn’t even use up all that much of its CPU or memory power.
- The Battery Life
It is well known that gaming laptops don’t perform well in case of battery endurance, and Triton 500 won’t help change that image. This machine well lasted approximately for 4 hours with good usage like web surfing and full screen brightness.
- The Software and Warranty
Alongside PredatorSense, Acer preinstalled its Care software so you can easily check system diagnostics, delete junk files, and give your drive a good tuneup every now and then. This machine also comes with some third-party apps specific to gaming such as Killer Control Center, which is helpful for setting network bandwidth prioritization. Now Nvidia’s GeForce Experience offers you a suit of apps from enhancing your gaming performance to battery optimization to live streaming. For live streaming your game, you get XSplit Gamecaster.
On the third-party front you also get Amazon, Netflix, Plex, PowerDirector, Cyberlink and Cyberlink PhotoDirector.
The Acer Predator Triton 500 comes with a one-year limited warranty.
