Assembly Elections 2023 Live Updates: Election campaigning is in full swing in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. The nomination process has been completed in Tripura, while only the last two days are left for nominations in Meghalaya and Nagaland. Polling is to be held in Tripura on 16 February. At the same time, voting will be held in Meghalaya and Nagaland in February.
In Tripura, BJP has fielded candidates on 55 seats. The party has left 5 seats for its ally. In Meghalaya, BJP has fielded candidates on all 60 seats, while in Nagaland the party will contest on 20 seats. Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah will be in Tripura on Monday (February 6). He will address two election rallies. Amit Shah will address a public meeting in Khowai. Along with this, there is a program of rally in Santir Bazar of South Tripura.
Along with this, TMC chief Mamta Banerjee and other leaders are also reaching Tripura. Mamta Banerjee is going to do a roadshow in Tripura on Monday.
Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura have a total of 62.8 lakh voters. There are a total of 28,13,478 voters in Tripura. The total number of voters in Meghalaya is around 21 lakh while the total number of voters in Nagaland is 13,09,651. There are a total of 31.47 lakh women voters in the three states. In all the three states, 1.76 lakh voters will take part in the polling for the first time. The number of voters above 80 years of age is 97,000. There are 31,700 disabled voters. 2,600 voters are above 100 years of age.
