Jitendra Tiwari Arrested: BJP leader and former Asansol mayor Jitendra Tiwari was arrested on Saturday (March 18) by the West Bengal Police from Noida’s Yamuna Expressway in connection with the Asansol stampede case. Asansol Durgapur commissioner had formed a team to catch Jitendra.

On the arrest, West Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar said that it is a political stunt. Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee’s police, which sells teacher’s job and takes crores of rupees, also cannot catch the scamsters. Bengal Police is sent to Uttar Pradesh but they do not see their own state.

‘Political conspiracy’

Majumdar said that three people died in the stampede while distributing blankets. Those who had come to collect the blankets became so rich that today they are hiring lawyers in the High Court and the Supreme Court. This is a political conspiracy because Banerjee has no support of the people.
