Delhi Mundka Fire: Delhi Police registered an FIR under sections 308, 304, 120B and 34 of IPC at Mundka police station on Saturday morning in connection with the horrific fire incident in Mundka, Delhi. At present, 5 people have been made accused, including Sushila Lakra, who owns the building, her son Manish Lakra, Manish’s wife Sunita Lakra as well as two brothers Harish Goyal and Varun, who rented this property for commercial activities. The building is owned by Manish Lakra, whose father Baljit Lakra has died. There is a basement in this building. There are shops on the ground floor. Whereas from the first to the third floor there is the office of Coffee Impex Private Limited Company. In this, trading is done by importing assembling of CCTV cameras, SIM, router parts. The owners of the company are Pitampura resident Harish Goyal and his brother Varun Goyal. His father’s name is Amarnath Goyal.
An FIR has been registered on the complaint of Inspector Gulshan Nagpal, SHO of Mundka police station. Under which it is written in the complaint given by him that the police got information about this incident through a PCR call at 5.45 pm on Saturday evening. The staff of the police station reached near a building built on plot number 193 on Main Rohtak Road, where people were already gathered below. Some people had come down after breaking the glass window on the main road. After this, fire brigade personnel, NDRF staff and other agencies were also called to the spot. According to the FIR, the building in which the fire broke out is located in 500 square yards. In which there is a construction from basement to four floors. A residential flat is made in the upper half of it.

Firefighters retrieved 27 bodies
After extinguishing the fire, the FSL and fire brigade reached the second floor, where a large number of bodies were found. A total of 27 bodies were taken out from here and sent to the mortuary of SHM Hospital. At the same time, the people injured in this accident include Satish Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Ashu, Sandhya, Dhanwanti, Bimla, Harjeet, Ayesha, Nitin, Mamta Devi, Avinash and one unknown. All of them are residents of different areas of Delhi. A total of 39 people were MLC from the hospital, including both the injured and the dead.
Question on the role of Goyal brothers in the accident
During investigation on the spot, the police found that this building was taken on rent by the Goyal brothers for commercial activities. Despite having such number of employees, no care was taken for their safety. There was no emergency gate to exit inside the building. Apart from this, no other way was also provided. By gathering so many employees in a closed and cramped building from all sides, their lives were willfully put in danger for their own benefit, due to which many people also lost their lives.
