Delhi Women’s Commission questioned the plight of the school, then MCD gave this answer


Delhi Commission for Women: Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, visited the schools of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (Delhi MCD). Regarding this visit, Maliwal said that on receiving the complaint to the Women’s Commission, a surprise inspection of these schools was done. In this inspection, the bad condition was seen in the schools of the corporation. The Women’s Commission said that the children here are forced to study in pathetic condition. In a school, the roof is on the verge of collapse, somewhere children are studying by laying a rug, and somewhere there are locks on the gate.


On this, now the Delhi MCD has issued a statement and given its clarification. In response to the notice, it has been said that the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women had made a surprise inspection of the schools of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The corporation said that due to the building of Bhati Mines School being established on the land of Forest Department, construction of building is not allowed there.


Classes are conducted in two shifts
Classes are conducted in the school in two shifts, morning and evening. Presently, Mission Buniyaad program is being run in schools, in which schools are being run in a single shift, due to which more children have to be accommodated in classes.

There is a water problem in the school due to non-connection of the water board, which is being arranged by taking water from the nearby temple and for a permanent solution, permission has been taken from DM South to install borewell in the school and soon. Only this problem will be resolved.


What did the municipal team say for Aruna Nagar Vidyalaya?
RO and water cooler have been installed for the students in the school. Twelve CCTV cameras have been installed in the school which are often damaged due to the disturbances of monkeys. In this sequence, it was damaged on 21 May. The team of Education Department and Engineering Department has completed a joint survey for the renovation of the school building located in Aruna Nagar of the corporation. The restoration work of the building will be done on priority basis, for which the file will be approved soon after estimating the cost.

Found pieces of gutkha and broken syringes
All the CCTV cameras in the school are working smoothly and due to the holidays, arrangements have been made to distribute 2 bananas as snacks for the children. Gutkha wrappers, broken syringes and cigarette pieces have been found due to the corporation’s dispensary being near the school located at Keval Park.

On May 20, a broken syringe was thrown at the school by visitors as young children were being vaccinated. Every effort is being made to improve the condition of the school building. BJP has raised questions on Swati Maliwal on this whole matter. It was alleged by the BJP that despite holding a constitutional post, Swati Maliwal is working as an Aam Aadmi Party worker.
