Delhi Government: The parks of the capital Delhi will also now be of international standard. The Delhi government will beautify and develop the parks as per the international standard. For which 11 parks have been selected as model parks. These parks will be developed under the Chief Minister’s Park Beautification Scheme. At present, it has been decided to set up a model park in every district of Delhi.
On Thursday, a high-level joint review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai regarding the beautification of Delhi’s parks. Officials of all departments like Delhi Parks and Garden Society (DPGS), MCD, DDCD, PWD etc. were present in the meeting. During the meeting, Environment Minister Gopal Rai has ordered to develop one park in every district of Delhi as a model park in the first phase.
11 parks to be developed as model parks
Under the Chief Minister’s Park Beautification Scheme, 11 parks of Delhi will be developed as model parks in the first phase. Under the scheme, a survey of 16,828 parks will be done in Delhi. So far about 12000 parks have been surveyed. After which the park of Delhi will be developed on the world-class model.
In this way the beautification of the parks will be done
The beautification of the parks will include plantation of native species of trees, bird friendly habitat, fountains, compost facilities, jogging paths, open gym, WiFi. After surveying all the parks, they will be repaired with the help of RWAs/NGOs.
