ED Registered Case Against Ansal Group: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case against the real estate company Ansal Group under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The ED has written a letter to the Lucknow Police Commissionerate seeking information about all the cases registered against Ansal so far.
Let us inform that more than three dozen cases have been registered against Ansal Group in Lucknow. Most of the cases are related to investing in plots through lucrative schemes and subsequent fraud. The Lucknow Police had also issued a lookout notice against Pranav Ansal, son of Ansal Group owner Sushil Ansal, and arrested him from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport in September 2019 while on his way to London.
ED seeks help from Lucknow Police
The ED has also asked the Lucknow Police to provide the chargesheet filed in the court after investigating the cases registered against the Ansal Group. If sources are to be believed, apart from the Lucknow Police, the ED has also written a letter to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) and Lucknow Development Authority, asking them to give full details about the irregularities of the Ansal Group. The ED has also sought forensic audit report of Ansal Group conducted by RERA. At the same time, a list of officials approving the plans of Ansal Group, its investors and group housing has been summoned from LDA.
Ansal Group cheated common people investing
In fact, many big players of real estate had also invested in the projects of Ansal Group. After signing the MoU, Ansal Group did not keep its promise, due to which disputes started with many investors. Similarly, the common people who had invested in Ansal Housing in the desire to make their home were also cheated, after which many cases were also registered in Lucknow.
Apart from this, fraud cases have also been registered against Ansal Group in UP and many other cities of the country. Most of the cases relate to selling plots to people without buying land. Recently, Delhi Police (Economic Offenses Wing of Delhi olice) has also filed a case against Ansal Group.
