‘Either make Lokayukta law or resign’, Anna Hazare warns of agitation


Maharashtra: Senior social activist Anna Hazare has warned of agitation over the Lokayukta Act. Anna Hazare said that when Devendra Fadnavis’s government was there, he had promised to make a law. However, the Thackeray government, which came after the departure of the Fadnavis government, had also promised to enact a Lokayukta law.


Even after two years, the Chief Minister is not ready to say anything on this. Anna Hazare lamented th at even after two and a half years nothing is happening. He said that why the Chief Minister is ignoring our demand, I do not know. After all, we have no choice but to agitate. Anna Hazare has warned the Thackeray government to either enact a law or resign from the government.


Anna Hazare said – need for mass movement in the state
While talking to the media in Ahmednagar today, Anna Hazare also reprimanded the Mahavikas Aghadi government. He said that the government had given a written assurance. Seven meetings were held under the Lokayukta Act. Anna Hazare said that even after two years, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is not ready to talk about this. He said that our committees have been formed in 35 districts of the state. Once again there is a need for a mass movement in the state.
