On Monday, a court in Varanasi district directed the district administration to seal the part of the Gyanvapi mosque complex where a Shivling is claimed to have been found. At the same time, the court had said that people should be barred from entering the place where the Shivling is claimed to be found and only 20 people should be allowed to offer prayers in the mosque. This decision has been stayed by the Supreme Court. In fact, the survey work of the Gyanvapi mosque complex was done between 14 and 16 May. During this, the Shivling was claimed to be found. After this, the lower court limited the number of people offering Namaz.
