Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the recruitment has been canceled after complaints of paper leak in police recruitment. SIT has been constituted in the paper leak case. DIG Madhusudan will head the SIT. The team will investigate and collect facts and strict action will be taken after that. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that it is the priority of the state government that police recruitment can be completed with transparency and there is no scope for anyone to point fingers. An FIR has also been registered in Kangra in the paper leak case.

A day before the exam, the question paper reached some of the candidates. After coming to know about this, on late Sunday night, the police has registered a case against three youths in the police station Gagal. Paper leaks have come to the fore in the Kanshi Ram Memorial School, built mainly with Gagal. Three candidates caught in the paper leak case took the question paper and its answers by paying Rs 6 to 8 lakh. The three youths had 70 marks out of 90, it is believed that the paper was leaked from a printing press.
