Violence happened in Jahangirpuri in the past
It is worth noting that Hindu-Muslim groups had clashed during a procession on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Jahangirpuri last month. In which eight policemen and a local resident were injured. A week after the violence, Hindus and Muslims together took out a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Jahangirpuri’s C Block, giving a message of peace and harmony. The people of the area showered flowers on this tricolor yatra. Not only this, during this time only the tricolor was hoisted on the roofs of all the houses.
In the B block, C block and D block of Jahangirpuri area of ??Delhi, Hindus and Muslims were also seen taking out the tricolor yatra together. During this visit, both the communities gave the message of peace and harmony. Before this tricolor yatra, heavy police force was deployed in the entire area. Delhi Police told in a conversation with the media that 50-50 people from both Hindu and Muslim communities have participated in this tricolor yatra. The purpose of this visit is to promote peace and restore normalcy in the entire region, he said.
