Union Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who was present on the occasion, made 5G voice and video calls. This indigenous 5G technology of India is being considered as a big step towards self-reliance in the field of technology.

Young engineers from IIT Madras explained to Ashwini Vaishnav the design of various sub-systems of 5G, all indigenously designed and developed. Over the next few months, this design and ‘Made in India’ solution has the potential to go from local to global, indigenously and securely to meet India’s needs.
