Pakistan Killings of Sikhs: Two Sikh youths were shot dead in Peshawar, Pakistan. The Pakistani government is once again under the scanner regarding this matter. Regarding this massacre, it was said on behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs that, there is great concern among the people of India and especially the Sikh community regarding this incident. Taking these attacks on the minority community seriously, the Government of Pakistan should investigate them. It was said on behalf of the ministry that, this is not the first time that minorities have been targeted in Pakistan, such incidents have come to the fore in the past as well. Along with this, Pakistan has been advised to take care of the security of the minority community.

The attackers carried out this massacre in broad daylight. According to the police, two bike-borne assailants carried out the attack in the morning, in which Saljit Singh (42) and Ranjit Singh (38) died on the spot. The attackers fled after the attack. Both these minorities of the Sikh community were engaged in the business of spices and had their shops in Bata Tal market in Sarband, about 17 km from Peshawar. So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Pakistani PM condemned
However, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the incident and directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to ensure immediate arrest and punishment of the culprits. He also urged the Chief Minister to take steps to protect the lives and properties of citizens, especially non-Muslims. Sharif expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He said enmity with Pakistan was behind this “terrorist act”. Sharif resolved to eliminate the enemies of the country.
