Telangana News: Telangana Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to extend the metro corridor from Raidurgam Metro Terminal to Shamshabad International Airport at Mind Space Junction. CM KCR will lay the foundation stone of this important project on 9th December. The Telangana government has prepared a plan to complete the metro project in the next three years. The CM said that the construction of this project will be done by the state government.
Hyderabad Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K. T. Rama Rao tweeted, "Starting from Mindspace Junction to Shamshabad Airport, the project will be 31 km long and will cost around Rs 6,250 crore." The minister said that Hyderabad is the fastest growing metropolis in terms of quarterly and year-on-year growth of the real estate sector especially since 2019-20.
Many international companies are building their offices on this route
This metro will go from Biodiversity Junction via Kazhaguda Road and touch Nanak Ramguda Junction on Outer Ring Road. At present the metro train runs through an exclusive right of way (right of way) from the airport. Many international companies are building their offices on this route. Due to this, people will be able to travel by metro on this route.
To meet the future transportation needs of Hyderabad which has become a global city, the Metro project (Airport Express Highway) has been designed to reach Shamshabad Airport from any part of the city in the shortest possible time. All the major metro cities of the world also have metro rail facility till the airport. Against this backdrop, this metro project of international standards has been designed in the context of KCR’s vision of making Hyderabad a metropolitan city.
Traffic congestion increasing in Hyderabad
Considering the traffic congestion in the massively expanding Hyderabad city with world-class investments, connecting the metro to the airport has become a top priority. Hyderabad is going to become more investment destination due to metro project.
To deal with the day to day traffic and provide better facilities in Hyderabad city, Telangana government is providing massive transport infrastructure with the initiative of Minister KTR on the instructions of the Chief Minister. The state government is undertaking several projects, flyovers, link roads and strengthening of other road systems.
