Varansi Gyanvapi Case Live Updates: Varanasi’s Gyanvapi Masjid case will be heard in Varanasi court today. Along with this, the decision will also be given on the petition filed in the Supreme Court in this matter. The matter is listed at number 19 in the Supreme Court bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Surya Kant and Justice PS Narasimha. This bench is going to sit till 1 pm only. Accordingly, the matter can be heard around 12 o’clock.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court ordered the preservation of the Shivling allegedly found in the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi. The court had also said that the order of the lower court to limit the number of people coming to offer prayers in the mosque to 20 is not correct. All the worshipers should be allowed to come there.

The Management Committee of Varanasi’s Anjuman Inazaniya Masjid has challenged the order of the survey of the mosque premises issued by the lower court in the Supreme Court. The Committee has observed that the order of the survey is in violation of the 1991 Place of Worship Act, as it has been decided that the status of all religious places will be maintained as on August 15, 1947.

The committee has also challenged the Allahabad High Court order refusing to set aside the trial court’s order appointing a court commissioner for the survey of the mosque. Along with this, hearing will also be held in Varanasi court today regarding other matters including the claim of getting Shivling during Gyanvapi survey. Earlier, due to the strike of lawyers, the hearing on Wednesday was postponed.
