Sikh Brothers Murdered In Pakistan: The killing of two Sikh brothers in Pakistan on Sunday was strongly condemned in India. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann urged the Ministry of External Affairs to take up the issue of security of members of the minority community living in the neighboring country. Making a similar demand, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh also accused the government of neighboring Pakistan of showing off to the people of the Sikh community.

On the other hand, former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted condemning the murder, “I have always said that the government of Pakistan only pretends to the people of the community on the issue of ensuring the security of Sikhs. I request the Prime Minister’s Office of India to take this matter seriously.

Sukhbir Singh Badal tweeted, “Shocked and saddened to learn about the brutal murder of two Sikh shopkeepers in Peshawar (Pakistan). Condemning the incident, I congratulate External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar ji to ensure justice to the bereaved families and to take up the issue of security of Sikhs with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) of Pakistan.
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief Harjinder Singh Dham said that Pakistan should ensure the safety of Sikhs living there. Dhami said, “We strongly condemn the cowardly killings of two Sikhs. The Government of Pakistan should fulfill its responsibility diligently because such killings of minorities is a matter of great concern to the whole world, especially the Sikhs.” He demanded immediate arrest of the killers.
