Delhi Medical College: The Delhi government is going to give the gift of medical college to Indira Gandhi Hospital located in Sector-9 of Dwarka. Medical college will be built in Dwarka Sector-17. The government claims that this will provide better treatment facilities to the common people as well as employment to the youth. This medical college will be ready by the year 2025. In the initial phase, MBBS courses will be offered to the students here. After this the medical degree of MD, MS, DM will be given.
Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka is a Delhi government hospital. Similar facilities are available in this government hospital like a private multispecialty hospital. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain says that in the last seven years, there has been a big change in the health infrastructure of Delhi.
Not only infrastructure is being developed in the medical field, but new doctors are also being prepared and the number of beds has also increased. After the formation of a medical college at Indira Gandhi Hospital, Delhi will be able to prepare a new army of doctors. Youth dreaming of becoming a doctor will get employment opportunities.

Also, such students will get an opportunity to get admission in government medical colleges, who were meritorious but due to poverty were unable to take admission in private medical colleges engaged in ‘collection of donations’ with exorbitant fees. Satyendra Jain said that health facilities and health education are being promoted continuously by the Delhi government. Director of Indira Gandhi Hospital Dr. BL Chaudhary said that the country needs good doctors and in that direction it was decided to open medical school based on modern technology and health services in Dwarka Sector-17.
This will benefit the meritorious students and the society as a whole. Meritorious students who cannot afford the fees of private medical colleges will be able to make their dreams come true in the medical field. He told that the youth will not have to go abroad for medical studies.
When will this medical college start?
The introduction of various courses in medical and health sciences is being considered in the medical college. This medical hospital can be started by the year 2025. Admission will be done through National Testing Agency (NEET). There will be admission on 125 seats in the first session. The admission process in these will be completely transparent. Faculty will also be high level in the college.
A part of the Indira Gandhi Hospital complex built by the Delhi government has been kept vacant, on which the Mother and Child Welfare Hospital will be built in the future. Here the baby will be better taken care of after delivery. This hospital of about 600 beds will be equipped with all facilities. In this all the facilities related to mother and newborn will be available.
This state-of-the-art MCH hospital is being constructed to provide state-of-the-art treatment facilities near home to the women and children of Dwarka. Vacant posts will also be filled here after construction, so that people can get new services. At present, Gynecologist OPD including Medicine, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Surgery and Physiotherapy is operational in Indira Gandhi Hospital.
What services is the hospital providing now?
Recently, the hospital has also started emergency service here. The recruitment of staff is also going on at many levels here. The registration time in OPD is from 8 am to 11:30 am. During the last wave of Corona, the Delhi Government had started the services of this hospital for Corona patients. Since then Kovid patients were being treated in this hospital and it is still going on. The facility of vaccination is also being provided by the Delhi government here.
