According to reports, more than 50 people have lost their lives in landslides in Mumbai in the last three years. Last year alone, a total of 29 people died in two separate incidents in Vikhroli and Chembur. So this year BMC has decided to train the people living in landslide prone areas.
BMC has decided to train people living in landslide prone areas in Mumbai from May 20. According to the BMC survey this year, 72 places fall under the highly sensitive category. Meanwhile, the BMC will start training in the most vulnerable places in the city’s Bhandup, Powai, Vikhroli and Ghatkopar. With the help of NGOs such as Aniruddha Academy, Tata Institute of Social Science, Disaster Management Department, BMC will also provide a disaster management kit to all residents in highly vulnerable places while the team will also provide do’s and don’ts during a landslide.
NGO and BMC officials gave training to people
This training will be given in all 72 landslide prone areas before the onset of monsoon. People say that this training is very important because when an accident happens, people get scared, so if there is information in advance, then they will be able to face the situation in a better way.

Mahendra ji, trainer of disaster management department, while giving more information to ABP News said that this year there are 72 such areas which come under landslide prone areas, so BMC along with some NGOs is trying to make people aware by going door to door. . People will also be given emergency pests, while they will be given full training on how to save themselves.
