Mundka: About 100 people were in the office on the day of the incident, now 8 dead bodies have been identified.


Mundka Fire Update: On Friday, 27 people died in a massive fire that broke out in a building near Delhi’s Mundka metro station, while several people were seriously injured. Regarding this matter, DCP Outer Sameer Sharma said in a press conference on Sunday that there was a call of fire on the evening of May 13 at 4:50 pm. After which the police reached the spot. The police broke the windows of the building along with the local people. Most of the people were trapped on the second floor. 50-60 people were evacuated from here.


The DCP told that Manish Lakra, who is the owner of the building, was on the top floor. He was with his family and somehow got out and ran away. Many teams raided many places to find Manish Lakra. He has been arrested from Ghevra More this morning. This building was taken over by Manish’s father in the year 2011, and in 2016 it got its name. There was also no tenant verification done here. Agencies like MCD, DSIDC etc. will be asked about the matter.


8 out of 27 dead bodies could be identified
He said that out of 27 dead bodies, 8 have been identified so far. Others will be identified from the DNA sample, their samples were also taken. The DCP said that due to the motivational program in this office on Friday, all the employees were present on the second floor. After the fire, some people trapped inside jumped out of the main road by breaking the glass on the front side. Due to the fire, many people were trapped in the building itself. There was only one way to enter the building. He is also on the side of the street. There are estimated to be 80 to 100 people in the office on the day of the incident.


So far three people have been arrested
Regarding this matter, the Delhi Police had registered an FIR under sections 308, 304, 120B and 34 of the IPC at Mundka police station on Saturday morning. At present, 5 people have been made accused, including the owner of the building, Sushila Lakra, her son Manish Lakra, Manish’s wife Sunita Lakra as well as two brothers Harish Goyal, who rented this property for commercial activities and Varun Goel is involved. The DCP said that the police have already arrested the Goyal brothers, while Manish Lakra was arrested today. There will be further investigation, action will be taken against whoever is found to be wrong.
