NIA Raid On Maoist Organization: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted raids at seven places in Bihar and Jharkhand in connection with terror funding in the banned CPI Maoist organization Bihar Jharkhand. During this raid, the National Investigation Agency has recovered more than three and a half lakhs in cash, 11 vehicles, arms and ammunition including incriminating documents etc. from the whereabouts of the suspects.
A top official of the National Investigation Agency said that in this case of Terror Funding, today raids were conducted at 6 places in Chatra district of Bihar and one place in Ranchi. According to the official, the case pertains to terror fund raising and money laundering by a separate group of CPI-Maoist in the Left Wing Extremism-affected states of Jharkhand and Bihar. Some local people formed an illegal steering committee in the coalfield of Amrapali Magadha which was working for illegal union declared by Jharkhand state.
When did the NIA register the case?
The people of this banned organization were illegally raising money from contractors, transporters and coal dealers etc. for the leaders of the banned organization Gopal Singh etc. This case was initially registered in the year 2016 at Thana Tandwa under Chatra district of Bihar, which was later handed over to the National Investigation Agency for investigation. The NIA started investigation in this case on 16 February 2018 by registering a case under various criminal sections.
At how many places did the NIA raid?
During the investigation, on getting important information in this case, the National Investigation Agency today raided the places of suspects at 7 places. According to the top official, during this raid, cash worth Rs 3 lakh 66 thousand, 11 vehicles, arms and ammunition and incriminating documents including digital equipment have been seized. According to the top official, work is being done to assess the equivalent documents in this case. On the basis of which some people can be arrested soon, the investigation of the case is going on.
