Sedition Law: The Supreme Court has given a big decision while hearing the petitions against the sedition law i.e. Section 124A. The Supreme Court has made this law ineffective for the time being. On this matter, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju spoke of ‘Lakshman Rekha’ for all the institutions including executive and judiciary and said that no one should cross it. He said that we respect each other. The court should respect the government, the legislature.

Similarly, the government should also respect the court. Former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has retaliated by tweeting on this statement of the Union Law Minister. He said that the Union Law Minister has no right to draw any ‘arbitrary Lakshman Rekha’ and he should read Article 13 of the Constitution which allows any pre-constitutional law to be declared invalid if they are not entitled to constitutional rights. don’t know about.

Legislature cannot make any law

He further said that the legislature cannot make any law, nor can any such law be allowed to remain in the law book, which violates the fundamental rights. In the view of many legal scholars, the sedition law violates Articles 19 and 21 of the Constitution. P Chidambaram also took a jibe at the government and said that all the king’s horses and all the king’s people, cannot save that law.

Significantly, on Wednesday, the Supreme Court had made this law ineffective while hearing the petitions against the sedition law i.e. Section 124A. At the same time, the court said that new cases should not be registered under this law and the court proceedings should also be stopped in those cases which are already pending. The Supreme Court accepted the request of the Central Government that it should be given time to review the law. The court said that till the government does not review the law, this interim arrangement will remain in force. This decision of the court was welcomed by the Congress leaders. Along with this, the Modi government was also targeted on this pretext.

Regarding this decision, the Congress said that the country’s top court has given a message that showing a mirror to power cannot be sedition. The party also said that the order of the Supreme Court has also proved that the promise made by the Congress to abolish the sedition law in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections was the right way.

At the same time, after this decision of the court, the Union Law Minister had said that the intention of Prime Minister Modi has also been told to the court. We respect the court and its independence. But there is a Lakshman Rekha, which everyone should respect. Prime minister Narendra Modi The NDA government led by the BJP will always protect the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India. Our government will also protect the values ??enshrined in the Constitution. At the same time, while targeting the Congress, he said that if there is any one party which is opposed to freedom, democracy and respect of institutions, then it is the Indian National Congress. This party has always stood with the forces that broke India and left no chance to divide India.
