Delhi Govt Liquor Policy: The Delhi government is now soon going to allow all the bars to operate till 3 pm. As soon as this news came to the fore, a political ruckus has started in Delhi on this. Delhi Congress and BJP have started opposing it fiercely, questioning this decision of the government. In fact, the Delhi government has taken a policy decision in which bar operators will be allowed to serve liquor till 3 am.
Congress alleges alliance with liquor mafia
A senior government official said, the government has issued necessary instructions to the excise department and an order is likely to be issued soon as per the excise policy 2021-22. As soon as this news came to the fore, Delhi Congress Committee President Anil Chaudhary said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given 201 new licenses to restaurants, bars, banquet halls, hotels and clubs in Delhi under the new liquor policy, despite heavy opposition from Delhiites. By giving, arrangements have been made to serve liquor in them till 3 pm. He said that by doing corruption with the liquor mafia, the Delhi government allocated these licenses and the licenses given under the new excise policy, the State Congress Committee has sought time to meet the Delhi Police Commissioner to expose and demand investigation. .
Anil Chaudhary said that Kejriwal is determined to completely destroy Delhi, he had already opened 3-4 liquor contracts in each ward by reducing the drinking age of youth from 25 to 21 years. Said that to make Delhi a drug capital, the Kejriwal government is providing liquor in Delhi for almost 24 hours. Anil Chaudhary said that instead of taking positive steps to prevent rising inflation and Kovid-19 infection, Kejriwal is not leaving any opportunity to provide liquor 24 hours a day in Delhi.
BJP also raised questions
BJP also raised questions on this decision of Delhi government. Former Union Health Minister and BJP MP Dr Harsh Vardhan, while tweeting on this matter, wrote that ‘While the common man is suffering due to water shortage in Delhi, on the other hand, under the new liquor policy of the Delhi Government, liquor contracts will be extended till 3 am. The decision to open shows the anti-people mentality of the Aam Aadmi Party. Instead of providing clean water to the public, now it is the priority of AAP to provide liquor.
There has been a lot of political uproar in the past regarding the new excise policy of the Delhi government, in such a situation, with this new policy of the government, once again the politics on liquor in Delhi is definitely going to heat up.
