Tipra Motha Party On BJP: Elections are to be held for 60 assembly seats in Tripura in the next few days, for which the party seems to be exerting full force. Union Home Minister Amit Shah while addressing the Vijay Sankalp public meeting on Monday (February 6) surrounded the opposition and also took a dig at the Tipra Motha Party led by Tripura’s royal scion Pradyot Manikya Debbarma. . Amit Shah accused Tipra Motha that he had a secret agreement with the Congress and the CPI(M).
Addressing a rally in Santirbazar, Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Earlier the Congress and the Communists were fighting. Now, the Congress and the Communists have come together and Tipra Motha is with them.” Shahi Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, head of Tipra Motha, has given a sharp reaction to this statement of Amit Shah. Debbarma said, “I would like to tell the home minister of our country that the Manikya clan does not bow before anyone and is not a B-team of anyone.” He further said, Amit Shah took the name of my grandfather Maharaja Bir Bikram. Understand the point that Bir Bikram will not sell his land, his people to anyone. We are not anyone’s B-team.”
BJP is B-Team.
Debbarma further said, Bharatiya Janata Party is the B-Team in Nagaland. In Meghalaya, Shillong and Garo Hills, she is the B-team of some other party. There is a B-team of some other party in Mizoram. AIADMK has a B-team in Tamil Nadu. AAP is the B-team of Akali Dal in Punjab. Emphasizing his point further, he said, BJP is the B-team of many parties in India. Tipra Motha may be a small party but it does not bow down or compromise with anyone.
Maybe that’s why B-Team is calling – Debbarma
Debbarma said, if we were really someone’s B-team then why would you call us to Delhi for talks? There was no deal between us… there was no deal, maybe that’s why you are calling us the B-Team. He further said that this party will defeat BJP, CPM and Congress in 2023 elections.
Actually, Tipra Motha is moving forward on the strength of tribal support and is pushing BJP on the backfoot. The party had won 18 out of 30 seats in the Zilla Parishad elections in tribal areas in 2021.
