Professor Ratan Lal arrested for making controversial remarks on alleged Shivling found in Gyanvapi Masjid


Gyanvapi Mosque: Delhi University professor Ratan Lal had made a controversial post on social media after a Shivling-like structure was allegedly found in Varanasi’s Gyanvapi Mosque. For which the Delhi Police has now arrested him on Friday night. It is being told that an FIR was lodged against Professor Ratan Lal of Delhi University in the Cyber ??Cell of the North District.


Ratan Lal, a professor at the Hindu College in Delhi University, had made an objectionable remark on social media while posting a controversial picture of a purported Shivling found in the Gyanvapi Masjid. Due to which a lawyer had lodged an FIR in the Cyber ??Cell of the North District against this post made with the aim of hurting the sentiments of the Hindu side. In which case Professor Ratan Lal has been arrested late on Friday evening.


Let us tell you that when the matter caught fire and a report was filed for action on it, the professor had also deleted his post. Professor Ratan Lal is a professor in the Department of History at Hindu College.


On the other hand, the Shivling-like structure allegedly found in the Gyanvapi Masjid has been described as a fountain by many Muslim organizations. Maulana Fazle Mannan of the Mound Wali Masjid of Lucknow says that the main reason for the construction of Hauz in the mosques was to perform Wudu. At the same time, fountains were installed to enhance their beauty.

At present, the district judge of Varanasi has been transferred in the Gyanvapi case. While ordering this, the Supreme Court said that considering the complexity of the case, it is being sent to a more experienced judge. The Supreme Court has said that now the District Judge will hear all the cases and applications related to the case.
