Rahul Gandhi Telangana Visit: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday gave a clear message to the party workers and leaders in Telangana to remain united and said that indiscipline will not be tolerated. Addressing the workers and leaders of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee here, he said that party ticket will be given only to those who work in the area. He said that the final decision on ticket distribution would be taken only after taking public opinion.
Gandhi told the workers, ‘We want to listen to everyone, but not through the media. We will listen to your complaints as per the mechanism built within the party and if anyone speaks without thinking and causes harm to the party, he will not be forgiven. He lauded the party leaders and workers for a successful meeting of farmers on Friday evening and said that it was only because of the collective effort and energy of all of them that this success has been achieved.

Gandhi addressed Telangana Chief Minister K. Appealed to youth to join Congress to defeat Chandrashekhar Rao. He alleged that Rao destroyed the dreams of the people of the state. The former Congress president said that Sonia Gandhi had dreamed of betterment of the people of Telangana and had given it (Telangana) statehood, though the party had suffered in the elections. Gandhi said, ‘But we stood together in your fight for truth. I want to fulfill your dream of Telangana and work with the people of the state.

Gandhi said, ‘Don’t make the mistake of sitting in Hyderabad or coming to Delhi. Work hard and reach people. It is the public who will get you the ticket. He insisted that unity is paramount and party workers should not take (getting) tickets lightly. TRS is in power in Telangana, where elections are proposed in 2024.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Revanth Reddy welcomed Gandhi and asked party workers to broadcast the message of the Congress and the Warangal manifesto on various promises including loan waiver to farmers. Gandhi had earlier met NSUI leaders lodged in a local jail. He was imprisoned because of the protests against Gandhi not being allowed to interact with the students of Osmania University. Gandhi also paid tribute to Damodaran Sanjivaiah, the first Dalit Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
