Banihal Dead Declared Girl Found Alive: The baby girl, who was declared dead by doctors shortly after birth at the sub-district hospital Banihal in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, emerged alive from the grave about an hour after her burial. The officers provided this information. He told that the local people had opposed the burial of the girl in their graveyard and were insisting on burying her in her family cemetery. Officials said that after miraculously found the girl alive, her relatives protested against the government.


He said that taking cognizance of this, the administration has suspended two personnel working in the delivery room and ordered an inquiry. Local sarpanch Manzoor Alyas Wani told that the girl is of Basharat Ahmed Gujjar and Shamina Begum. He told that the baby girl was born in the sub-district hospital on Monday due to normal delivery. He told that the couple is a resident of Banikoot village, three kilometers from Banihal in Ramban district.


These allegations against the doctors of the hospital
Wani alleged that the girl was declared brought dead and she was not seen by any doctor at the hospital for two hours after which the family decided to bury her in Hollan village. When the couple returned from the hospital, some locals protested against the burial of the girl in the graveyard. Because of this, the family had to take the girl out of the grave after about an hour.


The girl found alive when she was taken out of the grave
Wani said that when the girl was pulled out of the grave, she was found alive after which the family took her to the hospital. He said that after the initial treatment, the girl was referred to Srinagar for treatment by specialist doctors. Gujjar leader Chaudhary Mansoor, who is himself a panch, accused the hospital staff of negligence. Following this incident, the family and others demonstrated against the doctors and hospital staff in the hospital premises.

BMO ordered an inquiry
On the other hand, Banihal Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr. Rabia Khan told that orders have been given to investigate the matter. He said that we have already suspended the junior staff nurse and sweeper working in the gynecology department with immediate effect pending investigation. Dr. Khan said that the detailed information will be shared after the investigation.
