Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal: Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today released a video message raising the issue of Kashmir. In this video, Kejriwal expressed his displeasure over the killing of Kashmiri Pandits and the lathi charge on them during their demonstration.
Arvind Kejriwal said that a few days ago a government employee Rahul Bhatt was murdered in Kashmir. Some terrorists came to his office, asked his name and shot him. It seems that he had come thinking that only a Kashmiri Pandit has to be targeted.
Kejriwal asked this question regarding the security of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir?
Arvind Kejriwal said that our army found and killed two terrorists there within 24 hours, but today the whole country is worried that why Kashmiri Pandits are not safe in Kashmir even today? Many Kashmiri Pandit youth were sent there for jobs under a special package. These people wanted to live there in peace.
It is their home, they want to settle down there and live with their children, but after this accident all the Kashmiri Pandits living there are scared. Arvind Kejriwal further said that when those people were protesting to express their displeasure over this accident, they were stopped, lathis were hurled at them, tear gas shells were fired at them and their own colony was locked. This is not correct.
What do Kashmiri Pandits want?
Arvind Kejriwal demanded that the officers who did this should be sacked immediately. This is not the time to do politics, this is the issue of the country. Kashmiri Pandits want security. His family, his people are not feeling safe there. If people living in Kashmir will not get security, then how will Kashmiri Pandits living in other parts of the country come back and live there. On what trust will he think of coming back to his home in Kashmir and staying?
Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal said that I request the central government to do whatever arrangements have to be made to resettle Kashmiri Pandits back in Kashmir. Whatever has to be spent for this should be done and sticks should not be used on the protesting Kashmiri Pandits.
To work together for the safety of Kashmiri Pandits
We have to hug them. They are our own. Tear gas shells are not to be fired at them. The terrorists and the enemies of the country should understand that if they saw Kashmiri Pandits with the wrong intention, then the country would not spare them. Today Kashmiri Pandits are settled in different states of the country, they are also in Delhi. We all have to work together for their safety and their rehabilitation. The whole country stands with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
