Qutub Minar complex: Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy said while talking to the media, at present no such decision has been taken by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to excavate the Qutub Minar complex. He told that this information which came on social media is a pure rumour. So far no decision has been taken regarding the excavation of the Qutub Minar complex. He said, as of now no such decision has been taken.
Some media reports claimed on Sunday that Iconography of idols would be done in Qutub Minar on the orders of the Ministry of Culture. However, now the Union Minister has denied these claims outright. The report also talked about excavation in the Qutub Minar complex. It was also claimed in the media report that before taking the decision of excavation, Culture Secretary Govind Mohan along with a team inspected the Qutub Minar campus.
